The outcome of rolling a singe die is determined by the number rolled. The table (right) describes the ranges and their respective outcomes. Numbers $1$ through $3$ count as a failure, or $0$ successes. $4$ through $5$ counts as a single success, and $6$ counts as $2$. After rolling a number of dice, count each success and compare it to the Target Number (TN). Below is a table that displays the probabilities of meeting or exceeding a select Target Number when rolling a given number of dice. The highlighted cells mark the number of dice needed to meet or exceed a Target Number with at least a 50% chance of success.
